The Granville County Fire Chief’s Association and the Granville County Fireman’s Association have established a relief trailer that will take supplies to a needy location in the western part of North Carolina. The trailer will be set up Monday, September 30, by mid to late morning, at the EmergeOrtho parking lot, 107 East McClanahan Street, Oxford. This is directly across from the Oxford Fire Station. This trailer will be on site until filled. Items needed: Bottled water Sports drinks Baby wipes Diapers Baby Formula Plastic Utensils Manual Can Openers Trash Bags – Contractor Bags Non – Perishable Foods Cleaning Supplies Tarps Plastic Sheeting Toothpaste Toothbrushes Toiletries/Sanitary Items Pet food Hand Sanitizers Sanitary Wipes Feminine Hygiene Products Work Gloves Unopened New packs of socks Unopened New packs of underwear The hours of operation will be from 8 am until dark each day. The trailer will be locked at night.

The City of Oxford, Granville County Veteran Services, and Granville County Veterans Affairs proudly present the Veterans Day "Operation Greenlight" Celebration on November 9th! The celebration kicks off on Main Street at 12:00 PM, with a parade following at 3:00 PM. Operation Greenlight is a nationwide initiative designed to show support for veterans by illuminating homes, businesses, and government buildings in green light. This powerful symbol recognizes the sacrifices made by veterans and their families and serves as a reminder that our community stands behind them. But with great energy comes a few adjustments. ?? Multiple road closures will be in effect to ensure a smooth race experience. ?? The action kicks off at 9 am sharp on Main Street, and we anticipate a bustling finish by 3 pm at the Little John Parking lot. ?? Let's show our support!
