We’re celebrating BIG today—Overland Park’s Strategic Communications Director, Meg Ralph, has been named Kansas Communicator of the Year by the Kansas Association of Public Information Officers! Meg’s been crafting stories, sharing updates and keeping Overland Park residents in the know for over eight years. She makes staying informed easy, engaging and even entertaining. Basically, she’s kind of a big deal. ?? (And no, Meg didn’t write this post—we wouldn’t let her downplay her own big moment!) Meg, you’ve set the bar high, and we’re so lucky to have you. Congrats on this incredible honor! ??

Doug, an Overland Park resident, and his son stopped by our Construction Debris Drop-Off event last weekend and later shared this thoughtful email with our team: “I want to commend and thank the volunteers and involved City staff who were there at the Construction Debris Drop-Off at Blue Valley Northwest this morning. As we finished dumping concrete and rocks into a dumpster, it started to rain, HARD. Staff and volunteers remained at their posts during the storm and continued to help residents unload their vehicles. We got pretty wet, but we’re only out in the rain for a few minutes. I’m sure the workers were soaked. They did a great job and I ask that you pass my thanks to these volunteers and staff!” We’re grateful for Doug’s kind words and appreciate the shout-out to the dedicated City staff and volunteers who make these services possible for our community. You all truly make Overland Park a better place to live! Want to request a service or share your appreciation for City staff? Head to www.opkansas.org/opcares.
