Parade of Lights is Coming Soon! The 29th Annual Parade of Lights is just around the corner! Every year, hundreds of people come together to celebrate this FREE, festive event—making it the perfect way to kick off the holiday season and get into the Christmas spirit with family and friends! In addition to the stunning floats lighting up the streets of downtown Odessa, don’t miss the Tale of Two Christmas Markets, where you can shop ‘til you drop and savor some delicious food! Honoring a Fallen Texas Sheriff Odessa Fire Rescue Pipe and Drum Corps, along with the OPD Honor Guard, attended a special service to pay tribute to a Cochran County Sheriff. The service was held at First Baptist Church of Morton. Jorge De La Cruz, 52, passed away from a sudden heart attack a week ago after recently being re-elected. The father of four had served as the county’s sheriff for seven years, according to his obituary. Also in attendance to assist with the pipes and drums were two officers from the Houston Police Department and two troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family!
