The Veteran's Villas at San Antonio Drive marked a significant milestone with its Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony on Friday, November 15th. This new community, a testament to our commitment to our veteran families, consists of 60 affordable rental homes, a third of which are dedicated to veterans who have experienced homelessness. The ribbon cutting was held at the intersection of San Antonio and Foster in the City of Norwalk, California. Thank you, Recreation and Park Services staff, for planning and delivering another phenomenal event. It is designed to provide meaningful financial assistance to first-time homebuyers, helping them secure their dream homes and build a foundation for the future. ??Program Highlights: Funding Support: Up to $200,000 for purchasing single-family homes, condos, and townhomes. Max Loan: 40% of purchase price, capped at $200,000 ($100,000 for manufactured homes). Loan Terms: 30-year deferred loan with 3% simple interest; 20-year terms for manufactured homes, with principal forgiveness after 10 years of continuous occupancy. ??? Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must not have owned a residential property in the past three years. Home purchase price limit: $725,000 (adjustable). It’s so rewarding to lead beginner and intermediate participants who want to learn the principles of visual arts. ?? I strongly believe that everyone is creative and just needs an encouraging environment to nurture their talent! ?? Beginner painting class sessions for adults over 65+ start October 22!

We were thrilled to recently celebrate the groundbreaking of the Firestone Boulevard Widening Project in the City of Norwalk, California – an initiative that will fundamentally enhance the community’s infrastructure! Our team provided preliminary engineering, environmental clearance, and final design of this project which serves as a vital artery that connects the community, enabling the flow of people, goods, and services.. The roadway also crosses over the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) tracks and the corridor holds a significant number of businesses that drive the City’s economy. Enhancements include over 1 mile of widening/rehabilitation improvements to the 6-lane divided arterial facility, installation of multi-modal improvements for bicyclists & pedestrians and bridge widening of the existing UPRR overhead bridge structure. #ActiveTransportation #Structures #WeAreMarkThomas

???? Norwalk remains committed to helping those in need. Since 2018, our H.O.P.E. (Homeless Operation Prevention and Engagement) teams have work daily to assist unhoused individuals, providing support and connecting them with essential services. ????So far this year, the HOPE teams, which includes dedicated City social workers, assisted more than 40 unsheltered individuals into interim housing. Norwalk’s Social Services Department – one of a kind in the region – assists about 180 unsheltered individuals monthly. The City of Norwalk has and will continue to help people facing instability during times of uncertainty. Today marks the 50th anniversary for Norwalk Transit System connecting their community. Starting as the Hustle Bus and growing into the Norwalk Transit System of today, I am proud to be partnered with the amazing Norwalk Transit team.
