Congratulations to all those honored at this year's City & State Above & Beyond in Social Services event. ACS Commissioner Dannhauser delivered the keynote speech: “I know none of you do this work for an award, but I do think it's important to take a moment…to honor you for your dedication to uplifting New Yorkers in every community in our great city and beyond,” he said. https://lnkd.in/eUPN_j9v

ACS protects and promotes the safety and well-being of New York City’s children and families.
关于我们
New York City Administration for Children’s Services (“ACS”) works with families and communities, in their neighborhoods, to help protect and support children and youth through child welfare, juvenile justice, and early care services. As a child and family serving agency with a wide continuum of services, ACS is uniquely positioned to help create a stable, more equitable foundation of opportunity for those we serve. In child welfare, we, along with our community-based partners, support children and families with services that help make families strong, and also provide foster care for children who cannot remain safely at home. Our Child Protection Specialists conduct over 55,000 investigations each year and help link families to services and support in their communities. We also manage the city’s juvenile detention and placement services, along with alternative programs that are responsive to the needs of youth and families, while ensuring public safety. Additionally, ACS oversees one of the largest, subsidized child care systems in the country with over 100,000 children in various child care programs, including EarlyLearn NYC.

New York City is proud to invest in programs that support the success of young people. Currently, approximately 4,000 NYC young people between the ages of 11-26 are receiving Fair Futures services from 500 Fair Futures staff across 35 programs. As we recognize National Foster Care Awareness Month, ACS thanks the The Center for Fair Futures and all the Fair Futures coaches and staff who support young people in care. New York City is leading the way in making sure families have streamlined access to the resources, services and support they need and this partnership with NYC Health + Hospitals is central to that work.
The NYC Administration for Children's Services and our health system have united to launch a new pilot initiative aimed at connecting more families in need with family support services, while also reducing unnecessary reports made to the State’s child abuse hotline simply because a family needs help. The Pathways to Prevention initiative is just one of the ways in which New York City is working to make sure families have direct access to the resources and services they need. The pilot was designed with the help of the Public Policy Lab and jointly supported by Casey Family Programs and Youth and Families Forward Fund. https://on.nyc.gov/45hrXK9.
