Challenge 1 (Blight) Winner ($1,000): Clean Slate A program empowering re-entering adults and youth to organize neighborhood cleanups while earning cash. Challenge 2 (Workforce Transportation) Winner ($1,000): Tech Titans Created a prototype to pool transportation resources for employees. This week in Memphis was packed with excitement, inspiration, and new initiatives: Neighborhood Safety Initiative: The City of Memphis and Shelby County announced the Joint Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement, a collaborative effort to combine resources and promote safety in our neighborhoods. ????? Civic Engagement at St. Mary’s: Mayor Young spent time with students at St. Mary's, discussing civic engagement and how they can play a part in making Memphis even greater. ????? Fall Festival Fun: Memphis Parks hosted its first-ever Fall Festival, complete with games, food, and local vendors. It was a fantastic way to bring the community together to celebrate the season! ???? MOYS Takes JSU: 50 youth from City of Memphis Office of Youth Services programs experienced an unforgettable High School Day at Jackson State University! From the Sonic Boom of the South to campus tours, Greek life, and football, our students got an inspiring glimpse of college life. ??????
