Today was the day! Mayor AbouAssaly delivered his tenth State of the City Address before a crowd of more than 630 people. He highlighted the many ways Marion is doing its part to grow a strong and vibrant region. Earlier this week, we were proud to host the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance's Large Investor Council at the Marion Public Library. As Mayor AbouAssaly said in his welcome, "Marion is giving its best to make the region better." It was wonderful to welcome so many business leaders to Marion and shine a light on some of our recent investments.

This week, City Manager Ryan Waller was a panelist on the Property Tax Roundtable at the 89th Annual Tax Symposium hosted by the Iowa Taxpayers Association in Altoona. Panelists discussed Iowa’s property tax system from the perspective of the taxpayer and tax receiver. Waller shared Marion’s year-round budget process and the measures the City takes to be responsive to our residents’ needs in a fiscally responsible manner. Team Marion is all about collaboration and it was an honor to be part of this statewide conversation. #MarionReachHigher

Earlier this fall, Marion was honored with not one but FIVE Voice of the People Awards presented by Polco and the ICMA - International City/County Management Association. ?
