The City of La Crosse is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Benefits Specialist?within the Human Resources Department. The purpose of this classification is to administer the Human Resources benefit plans including short- and long-term disability, medical benefit plan, prescription drug plan, retirement, dental and vision insurance plans.? Additionally, the Benefits Specialist will analyze benefit proposals; and oversee the third-party administrators of the above benefits for the city. An incumbent to this position is required to perform accurate recordkeeping and analytical tasks for work which includes highly confidential employee information. Legislation has been introduced to add the position of City Administrator in the City of La Crosse. We want to hear your thoughts about the City Administrator positon proprosal. Local governments are complex organizations that require expertise in community development, public safety, public works, emergency preparedness, planning, personnel, finance, customer service, intergovernmental relations and an administrative structure that encourages and supports overall team organization. A publication of the League of Wisconsin Municipalities states that “as the need for full-time municipal management becomes greater, there has been a significant trend among Wisconsin municipalities toward hiring professional administrators.” An administrator acts as the chief administrative officer of the municipality. The City of La Crosse has recently updated their Comprehensive Plan and is seeking proposals from qualified consulting firms to update their subdivision and zoning municipal codes. The Request for Proposals has been?issued by the City of La Crosse Planning, Development, and Assessment Department. The RFP contains information and guidelines for submittal along with the City’s Standard Contract Terms and Conditions. The RFP provides the information needed for you to determine your interest in the project and assures an equitable process. The City of La Crosse Looking for Partners to Build Specialized Housing The City of La Crosse has issued a Request for Interest (RFI) to gather information about potential housing solutions that are needed to create the specialized housing capacity to meet the unique needs of homeless individuals and families. This initiative is one of the key components of?Pathways Home, the City of La Crosse/La Crosse County Plan to end homelessness. Following the RFI process, the City will release a more detailed Request for Proposals (RFP) to proceed with negotiations with interested organization(s). This partner will be in a position to use American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant funding, along with other funding sources, to develop sustainable housing solutions. It will be important that this partner can connect across the city and county with these opportunities, including the consideration of assistance with transportation, with a plan to continue operations after ARPA funding has been expended.
