Last week the City of Issaquah Senior Leadership Team recognized Senior Application Analyst Brian Oevermann, GISP with the coveted Big Fish Award. The Big Fish Award recognizes employees who do an exceptional job of providing day-to-day service to our community. Brian has built, managed and maintained the City’s GIS (Geographic Information System) for an astounding 17 years. A master of detail, Brian ensures our system meets Issaquah’s vast business needs and produces data that nearly all of us use in our daily jobs. Thanks to his work, Issaquah is one of the few cities of our size in the Seattle area to provide real time snowplow data via an online map, which quickly becomes the most popular webpage viewed by the public during snowstorms. He also participated in the latest round of the Local Update of Census Addresses (LUCA) program, which provides the City an opportunity to review the Census Bureau’s list of addresses, and make suggested corrections and additions. Many funding sources that Issaquah pursues are based on Census population, and Brian ensured that as many people as possible were counted for to maximize our potential funding. Brian is a valued member of our IT team, who also supports a variety of other applications in addition to GIS. He reflects all of our SALMON values, including sustaining trust through great customer service, and remaining highly ‘ngaged. Proud to have Brian on the City team! Congratulations
