These brave individuals volunteered to deploy and provide critical support during the devastating Davis Fire, Lahaina Fire, and Palisades Fire. This recognition underscores the vital role our first responders play in regional and national emergency response. We are so proud of their dedication to serving our community and beyond. 2?? This year marked the 20th anniversary of the Southern Nevada Sons and Daughters of Erin St. Patrick's Day Festival and Parade on Water Street! More than 50,000 attendees enjoyed this year's festivities. We are also proud to mention the festival was named the eighth-best in the country for St. Patrick's Day by WalletHub, just behind celebrations in Boston, Chicago and New York! 3??Congratulations to our City Clerk's Office for securing another award for the Kids Vote initiative! The People's Choice Award allowed members of the National Association for Election Officials to have a direct say in which of their peers receive recognition for their outstanding efforts in driving youth participation in the electoral process in a fun and innovative way.

Fiesta Site Update! ??? The City of Henderson Redevelopment Agency's Exclusive Negotiating Agreement with Woodbury Corporation has concluded. While we didn't reach a final agreement, we're fully committed to the former Fiesta Site's redevelopment, driven by community feedback. Our priorities remain: ? An indoor recreation facility for year-round activities. ? A supporting hotel to anchor the site. The Redevelopment Agency is working on the next steps which will focus on a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the planned hotel as well as identifying a partner for the fieldhouse. Angela Summers has been selected as the City of Henderson's new Assistant City Manager! ?? Since joining our team in 2008, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a commitment to our community. Prior to today, Angela served as our Director of Parks and Recreation where she led a team responsible for managing our 74 parks, 180+ miles of trails, six recreation centers, and two senior centers. Quality Education is a priority for our City based on the feedback of families in our community. We thank the diligent work of our educators, administrators, students, and the families of students who do their best to rise above each and every day. 2?? Get ready for smoother commutes! Mayor and Council approved a project to enhance Eastern Ave from Horizon Ridge Pkwy to Sun City Anthem Dr. This means improved pavement, new sidewalks for safer pedestrian access, updated lighting for enhanced visibility, and ADA-compliant ramps. 3?? We're investing in top-notch equipment to ensure our wastewater systems run smoothly and efficiently, keeping our community healthy. To guarantee our wastewater treatment facilities' continued efficiency and reliability, the Mayor and Council Members authorized the purchase of crucial repair and replacement parts. 4?? We're supporting charter schools to give Henderson families more options. By establishing a dedicated fund, we're supporting the growth of schools, giving families more choices for their children's education. This investment reflects our commitment to a strong future for Henderson.
