?? The City of Goose Creek was well represented this week at various Career Fairs across the state! Staff made their first stop at Goose Creek High School, sharing with students opportunities to get involved with the City. ???? Applications for the Mayor's Youth Leadership Council are still open! Rising high school sophomores and juniors attending Cane Bay, Stratford, Northwoods, and Goose Creek High School with an interest in student leadership and public service are invited to apply. ?? We are excited that construction will soon begin on the new Assembly at Goose Creek, a multi-purpose facility that will serve generations of Goose Creek residents in the decades ahead. ?? The new building will be located next to City Hall. During construction, the majority of the parking lot at City Hall will not be accessible. ?? Visitor’s Parking spaces have been placed at the traffic circle in front of City Hall, and on the top row in the parking lot, nearest to Highway 52. When those spaces are full, the parking spaces to the right of our Municipal Court building, and the parking lot at our Recreation Center, will remain open as usual. ? Our drive-thru at City Hall will also remain open; it will be temporarily closed later in the construction process, but we will give everyone notification before that happens. ?? Business will continue as usual within City Hall. As always, residents are welcome. However, we do encourage everyone to take advantage of our online water bill payments if that is more convenient. ??Thank you for your patience during this process. The end result will be worth this temporary inconvenience. We will share regular updates about the construction process. The new building will be complete in December of 2026. ?? Creek Conversations with Mayor Habib are three community town hall meetings that will feature an update from the Mayor, and interaction with attendees. The meetings will last about an hour, with plenty of time for questions, ideas and discussion. Each meeting begins at 6pm on the following dates: ? Thursday, March 20, at Crowfield’s Planters Walk Clubhouse, 201 Planters Boulevard ? Thursday, March 27, at Northwood Church in Carnes Crossroads ? Thursday, April 3, at Calvary Church of the Nazarene, 541 Red Bank Road. Portuguese and Spanish translations will be available at this event, which is being co-hosted by the Latin Advisory Committee #GooseCreekSC #creekrising
