Glendale Deputy City Manager and Fiesta Bowl Board Member Brent Stoddard visited Brigham Young University to present commemorative footballs to BYU Athletics and Oklahoma State University Athletics. This honors the 50th anniversary of the two teams' 1974 Fiesta Bowl matchup. What a historic bowl! ? We're looking forward to the first ever CFP quarterfinal matchup in the Fiesta Bowl at State Farm Stadium in Glendale on Dec. 31!

#GlendaleAZ’s communications team won a national award for its unique event celebrating the Rolling Stones’ record-setting performance this year at State Farm Stadium. The city symbolically renamed a street to ‘Satisfaction Way’ and Mayor Weiers proclaimed the concert day of Tuesday, May 7 as ‘Ruby Tuesday’. Legendary Mick Jagger personally thanked the city on stage. The band also posted photos of the Satisfaction Way street sign to its 25 million followers, resulting in fans of the World’s Greatest Rock Band joining in on the fun by taking selfies next to the iconic street sign. In selecting the Glendale team, the National Government Marketing Association 3CMA awards judges said: “You rode the wave of a mega rock band and used minimal resources to their fullest! What creative ideas! Surely this brought tremendous pride to the city and your department. Congratulations!”
