  • Glendale has announced the retirement of longtime public servant Jessi Pederson, who has dedicated nearly 20 years to advancing economic development and fostering community growth. During her tenure, the Office of Economic Development grew to include citywide special events, as well as arts and culture and tourism as part of Glendale’s strategic approach to economic vitality. As the city bids farewell to Pederson, Glendale is pleased to appoint Trent Dutry as the Interim Director of Economic Development. “We are incredibly grateful for Jessi’s years of dedicated service and the positive impact she has had on Glendale’s success,” said Glendale City Manager Kevin Phelps. “As we move forward, we are confident that Trent’s leadership will drive our city’s strategic growth and success.     The City of Glendale is excited to welcome Lauren Serrato as the Communications Program Manager for the Office of Economic Development. Born and raised in Arizona, Serrato is passionate about her community and is excited to represent the city her family calls home. With extensive experience in communications, journalism, public relations, and media relations, Serrato will be a key asset to the Economic Development Department’s ongoing efforts to promote Glendale as a top destination for tourism and hospitality. Serrato has a bachelor’s degree in English and Journalism from Wagner College and a master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from Arizona State University. Her first day was February 3rd.

    Cutter Chamberlain The City of Glendale is excited to welcome Cutter Chamberlain as the newest Economic Development Program Manager. Chamberlain is an Arizona native who has lived and worked in the communities of Yuma and Prescott Valley. He is passionate about city management and economic development. He has experience working with non-profits, local, state, national and international government organizations, along with small to large businesses. As part of the economic development team, Cutter will utilize his marketing experience to focus on Downtown redevelopment. He holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Grand Canyon University and an AZED Pro certification through the Arizona Association for Economic Development. His first day was January 27th.

    Nestlé?announced the grand opening of its new beverage factory and distribution center in?#GlendaleAZ. The new facility will produce creamers for several of Nestlé’s go-to brands, including Coffee mate?, natural bliss? and Starbucks?. With an investment of over $675 million, the 630,000 square-foot facility is the most technologically advanced in Nestlé USA's network. Its opening brings 300 jobs to the Glendale community and places Nestlé closer to its West Coast retail customers. Nestle has already established partnerships in the community including?Arizona State University?for sustainability,?West-MEC?for education and?St. Mary's Food Bank?— celebrating the opening by donating $100,000 to support food distribution & job training efforts in Glendale and across Arizona.?#GrowGlendale
