Chris has been proudly serving the City of Gilroy for over two years, responding to 911 calls for fires and medical emergencies and offering critical assistance to the community. As a firefighter/paramedic, his role goes beyond just addressing emergencies—it's about providing compassion and calm on someone's worst day. Chris thrives on being a dependable, familiar face in the community, helping people in their most vulnerable moments. One of the aspects he enjoys most is participating in public education events. Whether he's teaching children or adults about the various responsibilities firefighters take on, Chris finds joy in sharing his passion and breaking down the many "hats" they wear. At Monday’s Council Meeting, Thursday, October 24, was officially proclaimed Arbor Day in the City of Gilroy. To commemorate this day, the City celebrated with a tree planting event at Rainbow Park, where community members and city staff came together to enhance our green spaces and invest in a more sustainable future. Arbor Day is a special occasion dedicated to recognizing the critical role that trees play in our lives and communities. Trees are not only beautiful but also provide essential benefits to our environment and health.
