Ola Bate Roberson made history in 1926 as the first African American in Sumner County to earn a college degree. She went on to dedicate 42 years to teaching in the county and was a longtime volunteer at Sumner Regional Hospital. A special thanks to Allen Haynes for sharing this important piece of local Black history!
