In 2024, Fontana made major strides in public safety and infrastructure, ensuring our community continues to thrive. With new officers, upgraded emergency response services, and citywide improvements, we’re reinforcing our commitment to a safer, stronger Fontana! ?? Fire Department: The opening of Fire Station 81 has improved response times, while new hazmat equipment, a Pierce fire truck, and additional Battalion Chiefs enhance emergency operations. The department is also exploring drone & robotic technology for the future! ?? Police Department: Fontana remains one of California’s 17 safest cities! In 2024, the department welcomed 18 new officers, recovered over $5 million in stolen property, seized 1,214 illegal firearms, and expanded community outreach efforts to strengthen relationships with residents. ?? Public Works: Infrastructure improvements played a key role in keeping Fontana safe and accessible. The city maintained 222 traffic signals, cleaned 52,800 linear feet of storm drains, and repaired 7,700 linear feet of asphalt, ensuring smoother roads and enhanced mobility for residents.
