?? 150 Years of Blossoming Together! ?? This September, the City of Flowery Branch celebrated a remarkable 150th anniversary—a time to reflect on how we've grown together over the years. Flowery Branch was established in 1874, just one year after the Richmond and Danville Air-Line Railroad built a rail line through the area, connecting Charlotte to Atlanta. Farmers raising livestock had been living in the region since at least the early 19th century, when the town was known as Anaguluskee, meaning "flowers on the branch." This celebration not only honored the past but also looked forward to the future, embracing the vibrant community that has blossomed over the years. The pictures below highlight our City’s journey, showcasing both its rich history and dynamic present. A heartfelt thank you to all our residents, visitors, and staff. Your passion and support truly make our community flourish! #GACities #AlwaysBlooming!?

We understand our staff is vital to the operation of our City and showing them how much we appreciate them is crucial. So last year we started a new tradition at the City of Flowery Branch, we hosted our 1st Annual Employee Appreciation Picnic. This year, we hosted our 2nd Annual Employee Appreciation Picnic! Though inside due to the weather, we were still able to provide all the fun from last year. During this event Mayor Asbridge recognizes employees for their years of service. This year we were pleased to recognize: Barry Faulkner – 20 years, Bradley Thomas – 20 years, Billy Edge – 10 years, Bret Sweeney – 5 years, Casey Charlton – 5 years, Chris Compton – 5 years, Shelia Cooper – 5 years, and Virgil Welch – 5 years. As the Georgia heat approaches, we had our safety committee member Sandie Benitez discuss heat safety and ensured our staff was aware of heat exhaustion signs and first aid responses. We would like to thank all our employees for their dedication and hard work. Special thanks to our Employee Engagement Committee! "We are so glad you chose to join us and that you choose to stay with us- a fact we are grateful for everyday."
