???South Englewood Flood Reduction Update!??? ? The tunnel boring machine officially completed its second and final run earlier this month and has now been removed from the site. With tunneling complete, crews are installing the permanent pipe for Run 2 and securing it in place with grout. ? Progress continues at the new detention pond with gabion baskets, lighting and concrete are being installed. South Englewood Flood Reduction Project: Tunnel Boring Machine Update Exciting progress is underway! The Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) has successfully completed its first run of more than 1,440 feet, connecting Rotolo Park with new stormwater detention ponds near Windemere Street as part of the South Englewood Flood Reduction Project. This critical work will help reduce flooding and improve stormwater management across the South Englewood drainage basin. The TBM will soon begin tunneling through the second 230-foot section, with breakthrough expected in about six weeks! This project is a key part of a $23M effort to enhance flood management and protect neighborhoods from future flooding. Stay tuned for more updates at https://lnkd.in/gPxrkxYi
