Following close to a year of research and surveying residents, the City of East Peoria has announced the adoption of its new brand, “East Peoria – East to Excellence”. The updated city logo features a multi-colored green, tan and blue E icon, representing East Peoria’s forested bluffs, agricultural roots and the Illinois River. In January, city officials began working with North Star Place Branding + Marketing to identify East Peoria’s reputation and its strengths. Company officials toured the city and met with focus groups. East Peorians and those outside the city were surveyed about their thoughts on the city’s greatest assets, what makes it unique, challenges, and outside perceptions. The data was compiled by North Star officials to develop a brand, telling the story of what East Peoria is about today. East Peoria’s previous logo and brand dated back to the 1980s, and the city has evolved since that time thanks to extensive development and growth. The new brand offers a way for the city to present itself to residents, visitors and prospective businesses.
