WIMG was established in 1974 to raise awareness about issues impacting women and inspire them to seek public office. During yesterday’s #CitySummit24 WIMG Luncheon, Judge Glenda Hatchett delivered empowering remarks to a packed room of women local leaders,?encouraging them to "walk boldly in their purpose, passion and power." This November, the City of Duvall is proud to recognize Native American Heritage Month. It's a time to honor the culture, history, and enduring contributions of Native American and Indigenous communities, whose rich heritage is deeply woven into the fabric of our region. In Duvall, we are grateful to live on land with a longstanding Indigenous history. We honor the Snoqualmie, Tulalip, and other Coast Salish peoples whose ancestral lands surround us and whose presence continues to inspire our community today. This month, we invite residents to reflect on the resilience and influence of Native communities and to learn more about the traditions and histories that shape our shared identity. Together, we can celebrate and elevate Indigenous peoples' stories, wisdom, and ongoing contributions. #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth #CityOfDuvall #IndigenousHeritage #CommunityRespect #HonoringHistory

Please join us in welcoming Johnathan Steinbach to the City of Duvall! Johnathan joined our City Clerk’s Office team on Monday and will work at City Hall. We’re excited to have him on board! Johnathan comes to us from the United States Marine Corps, where he served with dedication and distinction. In one of the photos, you’ll see him being recognized for his exceptional work in the Presidential Support program. His commitment to excellence and service speaks volumes; we’re thrilled he’s bringing that same passion to Duvall! The second photo is from an epic month-long motorcycle trip he took across the country with his dad. This journey speaks to his adventurous spirit and love of exploration—qualities that align perfectly with our community’s forward-thinking and vibrant culture. Welcome, Johnathan! We look forward to all the great things you’ll bring to Duvall. #Welcome #CityOfDuvall #NewTeamMember #PublicService #Community

As we approach 2025, the City of Duvall sets a focused agenda to create an even stronger, more connected community. Our legislative priorities are aligned with values that matter most to our residents—safety, sustainability, infrastructure, and inclusivity. Infrastructure Investment: Our growing community needs modernized infrastructure. We're prioritizing updating our Public Works Yard, Police Department and City Hall. We also must prioritize securing funding for critical infrastructure needs like 3rd Avenue, emergency operations and community/small business gathering spaces. Expanding City Parks: We want to continue the expansion of the Big Rock Ball Field complex and seek opportunities to expand McCormick Park for additional recreation while balancing the impacts on the natural environment and shoreline. Transportation and Public Safety: We need to secure funding to address transportation and public safety needs such as safety cameras, lighted sidewalks, and transportation studies at Hwy 203/ Woodinville-Duvall Rd intersections and Cherry Valley Rd & Main Street. Address intersections throughout the City to improve accessibility and safety. Housing Affordability & Diversity: Access to affordable, diverse housing options is critical to a vibrant community. We'll advocate for housing affordability policies, ensuring Duvall remains a welcoming place for everyone. And much more! Our 2025 legislative priorities reflect our commitment to fostering a community where everyone can live, work, and play. Together, let's champion Duvall's future! #CityofDuvall #CommunityBuilding #LegislativePriorities #Infrastructure #Sustainability #PublicSafety #HousingAffordability #Education

The Duvall Farmers Market has evolved into a unique hub that goes beyond being a mere marketplace for fresh produce. It is pivotal in fostering community connections, promoting local sustainability, and driving economic growth. By bringing together farmers, artisans, and residents each week, the market creates a sense of belonging and celebrates the abundance of local talent and resources. One of the market's most significant impacts is its direct support to our local farmers and small businesses. By offering a platform for these vendors to sell their goods directly to consumers, the market bolsters our local economy, promotes sustainable agricultural practices, and fosters personal connections. You're not just getting high-quality, locally sourced items when you purchase fresh produce, baked goods, or handmade crafts at the market. You're also supporting the hard work and dedication of your neighbors and friends, who are integral to the fabric of Duvall. Finally, the Duvall Farmers Market has blossomed into a space for education and cultural enrichment. Vendors generously share their knowledge of farming, food production, and craftsmanship with visitors, sparking interest in sustainable living and healthy eating. Special events, such as live music, bring an added layer of cultural vibrancy, making each visit to the market an enlightening experience. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Farmers Market for all they do. Their efforts in fostering community connection, promoting local sustainability, and driving economic growth are truly commendable. Thank you,?Grace Gorenflo,?from the?Snoqualmie Valley Record,?for showcasing our community and the Farmers Market. https://lnkd.in/gxtdCUyN

Honoring Indigenous Peoples' Day: A Time for Reflection and Recognition Today, we observe Indigenous Peoples' Day—a moment to honor the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Native peoples past and present. Here in Duvall, it is especially important to reflect on the land we live on and its deep, enduring connection to the Snoqualmie Tribe and other Indigenous communities that have cared for it for generations. This day encourages us to celebrate Indigenous peoples' resilience, wisdom, and continuing contributions. Duvall is a place built on the traditions of environmental stewardship and community, principles long held by the tribes that lived and still live in the Snoqualmie Valley. As a community, we can take this opportunity to learn, listen, and engage meaningfully—whether it's by supporting Native-owned businesses, participating in educational events, or advocating for the protection of Indigenous rights and lands. Recognizing Indigenous Peoples' Day allows us to strengthen our understanding of the deep ties to the land we call home and reinforces the importance of respect and unity. Let’s make this more than just a day of remembrance—let’s commit to honoring Indigenous voices every day, ensuring that their stories, traditions, and contributions continue to shape Duvall’s future. #IndigenousPeoplesDay #CityofDuvall #SnoqualmieTribe #HonorNativeLand #CulturalHeritage #Community
