City Of Dripping Springs

Over the past couple of years, the City has been working on a few projects to add excitement in the downtown Mercer Street area! These include adding parking, bathrooms and renovating the historic Stephenson Building. One of those projects is focused on Old Fitzhugh Road Improvements. The City will be beautifying the road, preserving the rural character of Old Fitzhugh while improving traffic flow, pedestrian access and connectivity. You can learn more about this project here: https://lnkd.in/gDdyn2Zs. Design is in the final stages and construction is anticipated to begin on Old Fitzhugh Road in late 2025/early 2026. In preparation for the Old Fitzhugh Road Improvements, City crews will be staking the existing right-of-way beginning tomorrow, March 13. Please use caution when traveling down that road this week. Exciting times ahead!

The City of Dripping Springs is set to twinkle with creativity as it unveils its Stars of Dripping Springs, a city-wide public arts project featuring captivating star sculptures. We will unveil the sculptures at a special event today called “Stroll the Stars.” Join us ! ? Wednesday, December 4 ? 4:00-5:30pm ? The Stroll begins at Mazama Coffee Company, located at 301 Mercer Street There will be brief introductions at 4:00pm with wine and snacks at Mazama Coffee Company. Then, visitors will stroll to each of the 6 stars as they are unveiled one at a time, giving each of the 6 artists who designed and painted the stars an opportunity to share her/his story behind their creation. The City of Dripping Springs is set to twinkle with creativity as it unveils its Stars of Dripping Springs, a city-wide public art project featuring captivating star sculptures. The City will unveil the sculptures at a special event on December 4th called “Stroll the Stars.” Organized by the City of Dripping Springs, Destination Dripping Springs, Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce, and the Dripping Springs Art League, the Stars of Dripping Springs project is a vibrant public art project that invited local artists to share their talents to design artwork for six permanent 3D stars that will be placed on Mercer Street. The project was announced last spring. Local artists were invited to share their conceptions for a star. Six local artists were selected to design their creations within the following categories: Night Sky; Nature/Wildlife/Birding; Music/Film Friendly Community; General Dripping Springs; and Texas Culture/History. The City invites residents and visitors to a community celebration on Wednesday, December 4th from 4:00-5:30pm in downtown on Mercer Street. Visitors will have a chance to see each star as it is unveiled and hear the artist talk about their inspiration for the star. Here are the details of “Stroll the Stars”: ? Date: Wednesday, December 4 ? Time: 4:00-5:30pm ? Location: The Stroll begins at Mazama Coffee Company, located at 301 Mercer Street ?
