We will take you to any OBGYN or pediatrician in Detroit, or within five miles of Detroit, all because YOU LIVE IN DETROIT! Moms in the D now have access to FREE rides to their doctor’s appointments. This program helps Detroit mothers get to appointments easier and improves the health of our mothers and babies by providing them the transportation to get the care they need. Reducing infant mortality has always been a significant priority for us in the City of Detroit and this new initiative will aid in that work. We want all of our children to have the best start to life possible and that begins with prenatal and infant health. Children who struggle early on in life with their health are far more likely to also struggle into adulthood. This program allows not only mothers, but anyone who is taking care of an infant, up to 1-years-old, a free ride to a healthcare facility inside the City of Detroit. These appointments aren’t just for the baby, but also include prenatal appointments for mom before the baby gets here and postpartum appointments after the baby arrives.
