Clearwater welcomed a group of students from Nagano, Japan, as part of our Sister Cities program! During their visit, the students met with Mayor Rector, Councilmember Teixeira, City Manager Poirrier and Assistant City Manager Slaughter to learn more about the city of Clearwater and its government. Their trip also included attending a Phillies spring training game, sightseeing around the city and connecting with the community during their stay. Clearwater and Nagano have been Sister Cities since 1959, participating in high school student exchanges for more than 30 years and engaging in a reciprocal exchange of students, teachers and official delegates for more than 60 years. We’re honored to continue this decades-long international friendship.

The Clearwater Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) invites the community to attend the next North Greenwood Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting on Monday, March 10, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Artz for Life, 751 Kings Hwy, Clearwater. This meeting offers an opportunity for residents to engage with the committee and contribute to discussions about redevelopment in the North Greenwood area. The North Greenwood CAC is a volunteer committee focused on gathering community input and advising on local plans, budgets, and redevelopment programs. The committee plays a key role in representing the voices of North Greenwood residents in shaping the future of the neighborhood.

The city of Clearwater invites museums, planetariums, or performing arts institutions to partner with the city in transforming any portion, including the majority of the Clearwater Main Library into a destination experience for Tampa Bay area residents and visitors. The Main Library, a five-story building with 92,332 square feet of interior floor space, is located at 100 N. Osceola Ave. in downtown Clearwater. The city is open to a variety of concepts from potential partners, focusing on using at least 10,000 square feet of the Main Library building for cultural purposes, such as exhibits, amenities, or dining options.
