Congratulations to Commissioner Jamie L. Rhee!
Commissioner Jamie L. Rhee was honored by the Chicago City Council on Wednesday for her 31 years of service to the people of Chicago. From her humble start as a customer service representative at O'Hare in 1993, Commissioner Rhee built a distinguished career across four mayoral administrations — as Deputy Commissioner for Real Estate at the Department of Planning and Development, General Counsel for the O’Hare Modernization Program, Deputy Chief of Staff to Mayor Richard M. Daley, the City’s Chief Procurement Officer, and for the last seven years, Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Aviation. Her leadership transformed O’Hare and Midway for a new generation of travelers by advancing major modernization efforts, including the expansion of Terminal 5, the completion of the $6.6 billion O’Hare airfield program, the completion of the Midway Modernization Program, and the launch of the O’Hare 21 Terminal Area Plan. She championed opportunities for small and diverse businesses, strengthened community engagement, and implemented policies that will shape Chicago’s airports for decades to come.
