Community Sensory Day ?? #Carmel #IN #Disability #Awareness #Month On Saturday, Carmel‘s Advisory Committee on Disability (CACD), hosted a community sensory day for families to celebrate Disability Awareness Month. *I am proud to be on a committee that advocates for our local disability community.* The event’s environment was calm and welcoming. There was no music blasting, large sensory items such as beach balls and pool noodles were available, an art table was sponsored by Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation while a movie played in closed caption. Giveaways and snacks were provided by the Indianapolis International Airport and BraunAbility. Thank you to City of Carmel, Indiana, Police & Firefighters support at the event, too! A BEAUTIFUL day, specifically for individuals like my son AND for me, his mom. ??
