??Last night, Burleson 101 Civic Academy participants got a hands-on experience with the Burleson Fire/EMS Department! This program was designed to give residents a deeper understanding of local government, and we’re proud of the impact it’s making. Participants learned essential skills in extrication and CPR while gaining insight into the vital services our firefighters provide. It's been an exciting few weeks across our city, with major achievements that highlight our commitment to innovation, leadership, and community service: ??Trees for Tomorrow Wins Big - Our Parks & Recreation team, led by certified arborist TJ Arthur, received the Innovative Program Award at the Southwest Park & Recreation Training Institute. This hands-on program helps high school students develop tree care skills, shaping the next generation of environmental stewards. ??Project U Leadership Conference - Our Economic Development team led the way for the 5th year in a row, connecting with inspiring leaders and empowering attendees with practical tools for growth. ?? Burleson Public Library Recognized for Excellence - Out of 542 public libraries in Texas, ours was one of only 102 to receive the 2024 Achievement of Library Excellence Award from TMLDA. With programs like Inclusive Storytime, Reading Rover outreach, and the Library of Things, we’re honored to serve our community in meaningful ways.
