关于我们

Nestled on the slopes of San Bruno Mountain, Brisbane is a small city of 4,800 residents located immediately south of San Francisco on the Peninsula. The City also has a large industrial area that increases the daytime service population to approximately 12,000. Brisbane enjoys a sunny climate, fine views of the Bay, and a diverse, small-town atmosphere, with easy access to all the amenities of the metropolitan areas. The residents highly value the unique charm and natural beauty of the mountain setting and a close-knit community. Brisbane is facing the challenge of dealing with future growth in a positive way that will enhance and preserve its small-town character.

Brisbane City Council Appoints Jeremy Dennis as City Manager At their May 2, 2024 City Council Meeting, the City Council unanimously adopted a resolution appointing Jeremy Dennis as Brisbane’s next City Manager. “I would like to say how pleased I am to be welcoming Jeremy Dennis to the team here at City Hall. It’s going to be an exciting time here in Brisbane and I am really glad that we are able to do this,” said Mayor Terry O’Connell. Most recently, Jeremy served as Town Manager for Portola Valley from 2016-2023. His background is varied with positions in budget and finance with the County of San Mateo County, and Long-Range Planning with the City of Palo Alto. Jeremy was also the District Director and Chief of Staff for Assemblyman Rich Gordon, as well as a District Director for Assemblyman Lou Papan. He holds undergraduate degrees in Political Science and History from UC Davis as well as a Master of Science in Regional & Urban Planning from The London School of Economics and Political Science. Interim City Manager Clay Holstine announced his retirement in May 2023 after serving 25 years as City Manager. He is the longest-serving City Manager since Brisbane’s incorporation in 1961, and the longest-service City Manager in the history of San Mateo County. He has successfully overseen numerous infrastructure projects, including the construction of the Community Pool, Silverspot Nursery School, the Brisbane Dog Park, Mission Blue Center, the Park Lane extension, Brisbane’s Community Park, the renovation of the Public Works Corporation Yard, Tunnel Avenue Bridge, and most recently, the new Brisbane Library. Recruitment efforts for Clay’s successor got underway last August with executive search firm Teri Black & Company, LLC. hired to commence a nationwide search to place the next City Manager. “With the Brisbane City Council selecting Jeremy as their top candidate, I am extremely optimistic for the City’s future, as Jeremy brings extensive experience in team building, citywide and department strategic planning, and overall organizational goal setting,” said Interim City Manager Clay Holstine. "Words cannot express my gratitude to the Brisbane City Council for this humbling opportunity to serve the residents of Brisbane. I am excited to support the City Council, the community, and the staff to further the qualities that have made Brisbane a great place to live and work," remarked Jeremy. Jeremy Dennis’ anticipated start date is June 24th, with City Manager Holstine continuing in his Interim role until that time.
