On Tuesday, the City of Brighton held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Michael Woodruff Municipal Service Center.?
The more than 67,000-square-foot facility, located at 503 Madison Street, provides new accommodations for staff from several departments, including fleet, parks and open space, public works and utilities — which were operating out of separate, aging facilities. It also houses a substation for the Brighton Police Department, which provides officers workspace on the north side of the City.??
The City broke ground on the center in June 2023. The facility is named after former Public Works Director Michael Woodruff, whose leadership and vision were instrumental in bringing this project to life. Woodruff retired from the City of Brighton in 2023 after a long and distinguished career in local government. He passed away in October 2023, following a courageous battle with cancer but was able to witness the groundbreaking of the center.
