AMP is pleased to announce Jim Odneal, Assistant Utilities Director for the City of Bowling Green, OH, as a Rising Star. Odneal has taken to his position with the City of Bowling Green and his place in the public power sector with great zeal. He finds enjoyment in the relationships he can foster and the variety of work and challenges he faces on the job. However, it is the difference that he is able to make for the people of his community that he most enjoys about public power — a fact that he would share with others considering a career in the industry. “There is so much to learn in public power, but my biggest piece of advice is to prioritize customer service,” Odneal said. “Remember that, in one way or another, everyone you interact with is your customer. Serve them with dedication and always put the community first. When you lead with a service-focused mindset, it becomes easier to navigate challenges and achieve meaningful results for both the utility and the people it serves.” In 2025, AMP is continuing to accept rolling nominations throughout the year for Rising Stars, emerging leaders in Member communities and at AMP.
