January 27, 2025, marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the Nazi German concentration and extermination camp where over one million people, most of them Jewish, were murdered. A little snow can’t stop us! On Saturday, over two hundred of you braved the elements to drop Styrofoam to be recycled. This was the third post-holiday event in a row during which we filled the 53’ truck to the brim. Today, the City of Beverly will observe a moment of silence in remembrance of U.S. President James Earl “Jimmy” Carter. We honor President Carter’s legacy as a dedicated public servant and advocate devoted to sustainability, global peace and humanitarian efforts.

Beverly has been awarded a $28,285.84 Patrick Leahy Bulletproof Vest Partnership (BVP) Program Grant from the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA). This grant funding will be used by the police department to purchase 64 bulletproof vests for officers to wear for protection.
