The City of Belgrade is proud to announce the appointment of Alina Prunean as the new Library Director. Alina brings nearly a decade of diverse experience in libraries and archives, having served in public, academic, special, and government libraries across the country. Her expertise in library management, strategic planning, and community engagement will be instrumental as the library transitions to its new home in the Belgrade Library and Community Center. As the library prepares to move into the state-of-the-art Belgrade Library and Community Center, Alina will lead efforts to expand services, foster community partnerships, and create a welcoming space that reflects Belgrade’s commitment to lifelong learning and quality of life. City Manager Neil Cardwell expressed his enthusiasm for Alina’s appointment, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome Alina to Belgrade. Her leadership comes at a pivotal time as we open the doors to our new library and community center. Her vision and expertise will ensure this space becomes a cornerstone for learning, connection, and growth in our community.” Alina shared her excitement about the opportunity: “It’s an honor to join the Belgrade community during such an exciting time. I look forward to working with the library team and our residents to make the Belgrade Library and Community Center a place where everyone feels inspired and supported.” The new Belgrade Library and Community Center is set to open early in 2025, offering expanded programs, modern amenities, and a vibrant hub for learning and connection.
