H-E-B is on its way to H-E-B! ???? Earlier this morning, officials broke ground on the future H-E-B Mid Cities grocery store, located at the northwest corner of Cheek-Sparger Road and Rio Grande Boulevard (the road into the Glade Parks development). H-E-B Mid Cities, which is located in both Bedford and the City of Euless, will be approximately 126,000 square feet and feature an H-E-B Fuel station, car wash, pharmacy drive-thru, expanded grocery pick-up area, and True Texas BBQ within the store (with a dedicated drive-thru). The store will also include freshly made sushi, H-E-B’s signature tortillas, a deli with a cheese and charcuterie island, full-service bakery, and much more. ?? This location will bring 600 jobs to the area. During today’s groundbreaking, H-E-B donated $10,000 each to five non-profit organizations: HEB ISD Education Foundation, 6 Stones, Upright Theatre Company, The Clubhouse for Special Needs, and Serving Our Seniors. The long-awaited project has a projected opening date in mid-2026. More updates will be provided as construction on H-E-B Mid-Cities progresses.

The City of Bedford Fire Department has appointed Florentino "Tino" Paredes as its new Chief of Operations. Paredes brings more than 25 years of experience in fire operations to Bedford, joining from the McKinney Fire Department, where he served as Battalion Chief and played a key role in operational efficiency, personnel training, and emergency management. “Tino has an impressive career marked by steady growth, strong leadership, and an unwavering commitment to furthering both his education and experience,” said Bedford Fire Chief Bill Walker. “He brings a grounded, collaborative approach that will help strengthen trust within our department. He’s exceptionally prepared to guide our team forward.” Paredes’ background includes roles as battalion chief, captain, driver/operator, and firefighter/paramedic, with a strong record in operational oversight, resource management, and mentoring. Recently completing a master’s degree in organizational leadership, Paredes brings both extensive experience and a forward-thinking approach to his new role. His dedication and expertise are a perfect match for the Bedford Fire Department’s mission to enhance public safety and service excellence. “I am thrilled to join the City of Bedford as the new Chief of Operations, drawn by the department’s dedication to community service, and the safety of its residents,” Paredes said. “Bedford’s strong foundation and commitment to excellence align with my vision of advancing public safety initiatives and enhancing our operational readiness.
