We’re harvesting creativity in full bloom this Women’s History Month with our “Trailblazers & Visionaries†series! This week, we honor two modernist artists whose visionary thinking innovated the art world: Georgia O’Keeffe and Tschabalala Self. Georgia O’Keeffe wielded her brush to abstract the natural world, deconstructing traditional art conventions and expectations. By capturing the essence of barren landscapes and delicate flowers, she magnified their inherent beauty, emphasizing the importance of perspective and identity. Her bold use of color and form redefined American modernism and continues to inspire generations of artists. Tschabalala Self stitches together paint, fabric, and print to craft vibrant portraits that celebrate Black womanhood. Through her dynamic, collage-like compositions, she challenges stereotypes and reclaims agency over the representation of Black bodies in art. Her work serves as a powerful testament to self-expression, cultural identity, and the limitless possibilities of contemporary art. As we celebrate Women’s History Month, these artists remind us that innovation begins with the courage to see the world differently! #WomensHistoryMonth #TrailblazersAndVisionaries #GeorgiaOKeeffe #TschabalalaSelf #ModernArt #WomenInArt #ArtInnovation #Atlanta #AtlantaOCA

We’re keeping the momentum strong this Women’s History Month with our “Trailblazers & Visionaries†series! This week, we honor two pioneering women whose dedication to uplifting and empowering young people continues to shape the future: Carrie Steele Logan and Malala Yousafzai. Carrie Steele Logan turned compassion into action, creating a safe haven for Atlanta’s most vulnerable children. Born into slavery, she later founded the city’s first Black orphanage, ensuring that abandoned and orphaned children had the care, education, and opportunities they deserved. Her legacy lives on through the Carrie Steele-Pitts Home, which continues to nurture and uplift young lives today. Malala Yousafzai transformed her fight for education into a global movement. After surviving an attack for speaking out against the Taliban’s ban on girls’ education, she became a fearless advocate, co-founding the Malala Fund and becoming the youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate. Her unwavering belief that every child deserves to learn is empowering millions of young girls around the world to claim their right to education. As we celebrate Women’s History Month, these women remind us that investing in the next generation creates lasting change! #WomensHistoryMonth #TrailblazersAndVisionaries #CarrieSteeleLogan #MalalaYousafzai #EmpoweringYouth #EducationForAll #WomenInLeadership #LegacyOfImpact #Atlanta #AtlantaOCA

We’re keeping the momentum strong this Women’s History Month with our “Trailblazers & Visionaries†series! This week, we honor two pioneering women who defied gravity and redefined what’s possible: Bessie Coleman and Dr. Mae Jemison. Bessie Coleman made history as the first Black and Native American woman to earn a pilot’s license in 1921. Denied entry into flight schools in the U.S., she traveled to France to chase her dreams, returning as a fearless aviator who dazzled audiences with breathtaking stunts. Her legacy paved the way for future generations of women in aviation and aerospace. Dr. Mae Jemison took that dream beyond the sky—into space. In 1992, she became the first Black woman to travel to space aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour. A physician, engineer, and astronaut, she shattered barriers and proved that the cosmos holds no limits for those who dare to dream. As we celebrate Women’s History Month, their journeys remind us that true visionaries refuse to be grounded. They soar. #WomensHistoryMonth #LegacyThroughFlight #BlackWomenPioneers #TrailblazersAndVisionaries #BessieColeman #MaeJemison #Aviation #SpaceExploration #WomenInSTEM #Fearless #Trailblazer #Visionary #Atlanta #AtlantaOCA
