  • Understanding City Decision-Making – Mock Council in Action! One of the highlights of this week’s Resident Leadership Academy session was the Mock Council exercise, where participants stepped into the role of city leaders to experience firsthand how local government decisions are made. Led by the Department of Legal and Administrative Services, participants engaged in thoughtful discussions, debated key issues, and voted on proposals just like Common Council! While Mayor Woodford (aka "Mr. Fun") made a compelling case for the Houdini Ferris Wheel project, the votes didn’t go in his favor this time. This hands-on experience provided valuable insight into the complexities of city governance and the decision-making process that shapes our community.
