关于我们
From our humble roots as a railroad water station, the City of Allen, Texas has always been about connections and service. We’re not a small town anymore with nearly 100,000 residents in our dynamic and diverse community, but we aren’t overgrown either. It takes an organization that’s grounded, innovative and focused to stay true to our past, prepare for our future and continue to build a city that is trusted by families, businesses and visitors alike. And it shows – MONEY's "Best Places to Live 2017" has Allen tops in Texas and #2 in the nation. Family Circle, D Magazine, WalletHub, SafeWise, and Forbes have all given Allen praise and high rankings for livability, safety and economics. Allen is 25 miles north of Dallas, Texas and is a home rule city with a council-manager form of government. This combines the policy leadership of elected officials with the managerial expertise of an appointed city manager. With a staff of nearly 800 individuals dedicated to our constituents, the City of Allen provides superior service in all levels of municipal operations. Our employees describe our organization as “forward-thinking,” “friendly,” and “appreciative.” We offer competitive salaries and benefit options as well as opportunities for growth, leadership and advancement. In 2016, Allen won several prestigious awards: the National Gold Medal Awards for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management from the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration (AAPRA), in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA); the Achievement of Library Excellence Award from the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association; and the Governor’s Community Achievement Award from Keep Texas Beautiful. In fact, it's difficult to find a department in the City of Allen who hasn’t been recognized for excellence! Visit CityofAllen.org/Jobs to see how you can become part of our talented team committed to serving the people and business of Allen.

Congratulations on this incredible achievement!
Especially blessed today to represent the community at the joint Texas/TexITE Annual Meeting in Houston and receive the Norman Hogue roundabout of the Year Award for the Allen Drive Gateway Project. This is the third award for this project, having already received a TPWA Project of the Year Award and Roads and Bridges Top 10 in the Nation Award. The project is meaningful to me for a variety of reasons. It represents the culmination of a vision that took years to foster and develop, taking considerable time to overcome numerous challenges. It is an identifying landmark on our namesake roadway. Not only is it a mobility enhancement, it is a striking aesthetic gateway for the community. This additional award is a reflection of the community distinction we were hoping to achieve. With me in attendance were colleagues that had been involved in the project from the earliest days of conception, through successful implementation. John Ho and Ryan Milakovich, Huitt Zollars. Kevin Bates and Earl Pfeil, City of Allen. (Not pictured, Jay VonAhsen, Kimley-Horn and Raquel Morton, LJA, formerly DCBA)

Located at the corner of Watters Road and Ridgeview Drive, Fire Station 6 is designed to serve Allen’s growing community, especially the areas along State Highway 121. Approved by voters in 2016, construction began in 2022 to meet the needs of this fast-developing area.
