The City Mission Greenhouse has been hard at work this year, producing hundreds of pounds of fresh, nutritious produce to nourish the people we serve. As the growing season comes to a close, it’s time for the Greenhouse to rest and prepare for a new season of growth in the spring. We’re excited to share a special message from our Executive Director, Mike Saccocio, filmed on the scene at our recent Community Day at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School. Thanks to the generosity of our friends and community, we were able to fill a room with donations of clothing, shoes, school supplies, and other essential items—making a significant impact on the lives of over 180 families! We couldn't be more grateful for the continued support of our community.

Yesterday was truly a special day as we celebrated the ribbon cutting of City Mission's newly leased Cornerstone Building! This space provides additional transitional housing apartments on our campus, specifically for men who have graduated from our program and are now entering the workforce. A huge thank you to Redburn Development, all of our friends, partners, and our supportive community who made this possible and are transforming lives with their unwavering support. Together, we're building a brighter future for our community!

With the help of friends and partners, City Mission is able to provide a summer camp for many local children. Yesterday, the campers were able to go on their first field trip of the summer and had a day full of fun! We extend our gratitude to those who are making this possible for local families. Our Ambassadors are honored to have the support of our wonderful community and partners.
We are thrilled to announce our support of the Proctors Collaborative Ambassador Program alongside Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP. The Ambassador Program has significantly impacted the communities in which we live and work for over 15 years. Ambassadors provide patrons with safe street crossing, parking and dining suggestions, and a warm welcome to the theater. Participants in the program have a renewed sense of confidence and have gone on to full-time employment as well. A huge thank you to the agencies, City Mission of Schenectady, Hope House and RISE Housing and Support Services for all that you do to serve our communities. We can't wait to embark on this new adventure.

These will be distributed at the Community Day at MLK Elementary School, where children and families can also pick up school supplies and clothing to prepare for the new school year.
