City Limits
报纸出版业
City Limits publishes in-depth reporting and commentary on New York City's most pressing issues.
关于我们
City Limits uses investigative journalism through the prism of New York City to identify urban problems, examine their causes, explore solutions, and equip communities to take action. Founded in 1976 in the midst of New York’s fiscal crisis, City Limits exists to inform democracy and empower citizens to create a more just city. The organization is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit funded by foundation support, ad sponsorship and donations from readers. City Limits Shelter Count City Limits publishes regular tallies attempting to more accurately track the number of people staying in New York City’s homeless shelters, a population that spans five municipal systems run by four different agencies. Spanish Language Initiative City Limits is growing closer to its goal of becoming a fully bilingual investigative local media outlet, a first of its kind in the city. City Limits' series "Lo que necesita saber sobre" has published guides and explainers in Spanish and English which serve as real-service journalism, news-you-can-use pieces for immigrant and undocumented New Yorkers. CLARIFY | The City Limits Accountability Reporting Initiative For Youth Since the fall of 2014, City Limits has operated a paid training program for high-school and college-aged students who learn and apply the skills of investigative journalism as they report on issues affecting their own neighborhoods.

“I feel way more confident emailing public officials and people in power.” “It made me a lot braver. I feel more confident sharing my ideas.” “I can handle close deadlines now without feeling overwhelmed.” “I write with more clarity and was able to do better on the SAT than I expected.” This is what members of our CLARIFY?(City Limits Accountability Reporting Initiative For Youth) internship told us about their experience with the program. Recognizing the vital role the next generation has in building robust communities, City Limits developed?CLARIFY to help NYC students develop important career readiness skills, find their voice, build confidence, and engage with their communities all through the lens of public service journalism. Our goal is to give as many young people as possible the opportunity to enroll in CLARIFY, especially those most impacted most by housing insecurity.?We need your support to do that.
