We’re proud to partner with the City of Westminster, CA and UC Irvine’s MURP program to create a hands-on learning environment where students can apply planning concepts in practice! Together, we’re shaping sustainable, vibrant communities—because at City Advisors, it’s always community impact over profits.?????
When my academic and professional planning worlds collide!???????? I’m excited to facilitate a collaboration between the City of Westminster, CA and UC Irvine’s MURP program, hosting second-year students as they embark on their community planning practicum. Over the next two quarters, these students will immerse themselves in the City of Westminster, engaging with community members and exploring strategies to create vibrant, sustainable neighborhoods for the future.?????? We kicked off the evening at the Family Resource Center, nestled in Sigler Park. ?? After dinner and a presentation, we took a walking tour through the park and stopped by key sites like the Mendez Tribute Monument Park, the Westminster Crossing affordable housing development, and the future Mendez Freedom Trail. It was a reminder that great planning is about more than just land use and design—it’s about weaving together history, culture, and community needs. ????? #wecannotplanfromourdesks Plus, we got to see Adolfo truly geek out over all the active transportation potential in the City!???♂??? I’m especially excited to work once again with my former "Planning Career Development " students and to support my friend, Susan Harden,. Giving back to the profession through volunteer leadership and pro bono technical planning assistance is a core value of mine at City Advisors, and I’m proud to extend that service to the City of Westminster.????? Looking forward to the innovative ideas that will emerge from this practicum!???
