???A New Era for?CancerWorld: Welcoming Our Co-Editors-in-Chief We are proud to announce that?Prof. Adriana Albini?and?Prof. Lidia Schapira?will lead?CancerWorld?as?Co-Editors-in-Chief, bringing their expertise and vision to one of oncology’s most respected publications. ???Prof. Adriana?Albini?has been serving as the?Editor-in-Chief of CancerWorld?since 2020 and continues to lead the publication, now alongside?Co-Editor Professor Lidia Schapira. In addition to this role, Prof. Albini is a?scientific collaborator at the European Institute of Oncology (IEO Istituto Europeo di Oncologia) in Milan?and a?Professor of General Pathology at Milan Bicocca University. Prof. Albini was the?Deputy Chief of the Genoa Cancer Center,?Head of the Research Department at the Reggio Emilia Cancer Center, and?Scientific Director of MultiMedica Onlus. She has over 350 peer-reviewed publications and is among the most cited Italian women #scientists in the #biomedical field; she was elected, the first Italian, to the board of directors of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) and now she is the Chair of the Cancer Prevention working group. Prof. Adriana Albini serves as the?President of the Club of Top Italian Women Scientists?at?ONDA (National Observatory Foundation on Women’s and Gender Health)?and is a?member of the Scientific Commission of the Italian Ministry of Health. Her influence extends beyond #science, as she was recognized by the?BBC as one of the 100 most influential and inspiring women of 2020. ???Prof. Lidia Schapira is a medical #oncologist specializing in the treatment of #BreastCancer, with a strong focus on #CancerSurvivorship, #education, and #advocacy. As the inaugural Director of Stanford's Cancer Survivorship Program, she has built a successful research and clinical initiative aimed at improving health outcomes for individuals living with and beyond cancer. She is also the Director of CME Program Development at Stanford Medicine’s Department of Medicine. From 2015 to 2021, Professor Schapira served as the Editor-in-Chief of?Cancer.Net, the public information platform of the?American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). Her leadership extended to the?American Psychosocial Oncology Society, where she was a member of the Board of Directors, and to the?Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer, where she chaired the?Psychosocial Interest Group?from 2014 to 2020. In addition to these roles, she was the?Associate Editor?of the?Art of Oncology?section of the?Journal of Clinical Oncology?from 2013 to 2023, contributing to the platform’s mission of blending clinical expertise with the human experience of #cancer. As a professor in the Department of Medicine at Stanford University, she is also a member of the Maternal & Child Health Research Institute and the Stanford Cancer Institute. Her work continues to shape the field of #oncology by advancing research and advocating for better survivorship care and patient outcomes.
