?? Medicaid & Medicare Cuts Could Impact the North Country ?? As federal officials work to reduce spending and manage the budget, lawmakers may consider cuts to Medicaid and Medicare funding. This could significantly impact states, such as New York, that rely on federal support to fund these programs. At Citizen Advocates and St. Joseph's Addiction Treatment & Recovery Centers, many of the individuals we support rely on Medicaid and Medicare to cover services we provide, along with their medications, medical equipment and transportation. Our mission is to strengthen access to high-quality convenient behavioral health, physical health and developmental disability services. The proposed cuts would have a direct impact on the individuals we serve, as well as our families, friends and neighbors, leading to reduced services and potential delays or disruptions in care. Please stay informed and advocate for Medicaid and Medicare in the work that we do! We are actively engaged with policymakers and community stakeholders to communicate the importance of this funding for the lifesaving services we have provided for 50 years. ?? What can you do to help? Consider reaching out to your elected officials and share this information with family and friends! Together, we can advocate on behalf of the North Country.
