SKETCH WALK! ?????? ?? We explored our neighborhood on this beautiful fall day in RVA to tour local landmarks and stretch our design sensibilities. Inspiration and history abound in our beautiful city. Thanks to our teammates Amanda and Catey for leading our time together.

Cite Design was invited to participate in Collegiate School's Envision Richmond capstone experience. Each year, 8th grade students participate in an immersive civic engagement project where they?explore?topics impacting Richmond. Our team helped the students explore the topic of Urban Design and the ways in which thoughtful urban design can help better?both the environment and also our experiences within the built environment.?Cite Design met with students to tour Libbie Mill Midtown, to highlight and experience varying aspects of urban design.?To conclude their capstone week, we were able to participate in a panel of presentations where the students identified a?Richmond?real-world problem and developed a creative solution. We were blown away by the intuitive problem-solving and creativity displayed in the group presentations! Thank you to Collegiate and Wendi Moss, PhD for inviting us to participate in this year’s Envision Richmond.

? ?? Highland Terrace Apartments is a winner! ?? ? The 2024 Golden Hammer Awards presented by Historic Richmond + Storefront for Community Design honored Highland Terrace Apartments as the WINNER in the Best New Construction category. Our team at Cite Design assisted the development team in designing a thoughtful, quality outdoor amenity space on this new affordable housing project in Richmond. We enjoyed collaborating with an incredible team on this one: Enterprise Community Development [Enterprise Community Partners], Torti Gallas + Partners, RK&K, Lynch Mykins Structural Engineers, PACE Collaborative, and UrbanCore Construction. A Landscape Architect's worst nightmare...when your AD Markers are out of color order! ?? ?? ??? ?? Chartpak

This past school year, Cite Design volunteered with students in Heather Veneziano's Landscaping course at the ACE Center at Virginia Randolph. The students learned about landscape architecture, the design process,?and then implemented their knowledge by creating their own schematic design proposals for the campus renovations happening at VA Randolph. We were impressed by their designs and final presentations to a panel of representatives from Henrico County Public Schools, Henrico County Planning, and more. We hope to see?some of their designs on campus soon. A huge thanks to Benjamin Oberhand and Johanna Scogin, AIA, LEED AP who accepted the invitation to share more about their?disciplines with the students, helping to make their designs more well-rounded. Shout out to Jon Hershey, Amelia Powers, MURP, ASLA, and Sonakshi Gambhir for sharing their passion for landscape architecture with the next generation!?
