On January 30th, CISLA hosted an inspiring Principals’ Convening, bringing together dedicated school leaders to reflect on our impact and strengthen our commitment to student success. From celebrating academic achievements to discussing strategies for meaningful change, this convening reinforced the power of collective action in education. A special thank you to USC Credit Union for hosting us and to the incredible CISLA student who shared how the program has transformed her confidence. ??? At CISLA, we’ve heard from at least 15 families whose lives have been disrupted by the recent fires. Many of these families, working as domestic workers, caregivers, gardeners, and in other essential roles, are now struggling with financial instability. Students at schools like Mendez High School and Jordan High School are facing uncertainty in their homes and education. Your donation will directly help CISLA families by covering utility bills, securing housing, and providing them with time to find new employment. We’re facing a crisis in our community. The recent fires in Los Angeles County have disrupted the lives of many essential workers, including many of our students’ parents. As a result, families are struggling to maintain stability in their homes, putting our students’ education at risk once again. To support these families, CISLA is launching the CISLA Families Disaster Relief Fund. The fund will assist with housing, bills, and other basic expenses to help these families regain their footing. Together, we can make a lasting impact in our students' lives.
