We are starting a new series, recognizing some of our incredible board members! Today we salute Kara McNamara. Kara McNamara’s journey with A New Leaf began with a personal experience that deeply influenced her desire to give back. As the co-owner of a family business in Phoenix, Kara was first introduced to A New Leaf through small acts of generosity. "We had already gotten involved with A New Leaf and started, I think, for our marketing team, actually... doing things like Christmas tree gifts for kids and gathering donations as a company," However, it wasn’t until Kara faced a personal challenge that her connection to A New Leaf took on a deeper meaning. She felt fortunate to have the resources to make it through her challenges, but realized that many women in similar situations didn’t have those same options. "My heart broke because most people don’t have the opportunity to get the help they need. I was just blown away by the work A New Leaf was doing for women trying to escape domestic violence," Kara soon officially joined A New Leaf’s board, and over the years, her involvement grew. She championed corporate efforts, making sure her company was deeply invested in A New Leaf’s mission. For Kara, one of the most rewarding aspects of her work with A New Leaf has been seeing the impact the organization has on individuals and families. She consistently reflects on the incredible success stories of women and families who have overcome immense challenges. "Seeing mothers and kids not just survive but thrive after leaving a bad situation—that’s why I do what I do." Looking to the future, Kara hopes to see A New Leaf become a household name in Arizona. With her passion and leadership, Kara is committed to helping A New Leaf grow and continue its life-changing work in the community. "I’d love for A New Leaf to be the premier nonprofit in the Valley," Thank you so much for your commitment and incredible service, Kara. We are grateful to have you!

Last month I had the pleasure of attending Corporate Interior Systems (CIS) 's 40th Anniversary Celebration ?? When I first learned about CIS and who they are, I remember thinking "a women-owned business - how freaking AWESOME," but that definitely feels like an understatement! CIS is an absolute force to be reckoned with!! ???? The people I've met and the relationships I've built over the past 8 months are ones I will cherish for a lifetime! Thank you so very much to Stephanie Kehler, Greg Esquibel, & Melissa Ailts for the lovely invitation! I adore you all so dearly & I'm so happy that I was able to celebrate with you & the CIS team! Cheers to another 40 years ??

  • What an honor to be part of A New Leaf’s Annual Camaraderie Gala! ???? For 36 years, this special night has brought the community together to make a real impact across the Valley. As Secretary of A New Leaf’s Board, Kara had the privilege of honoring the Spinato Family for their incredible contributions to the community! It was truly a great night supporting A New Leaf and the amazing work they do, and we are looking forward to Bags & Brews to help continue our support!
