??Recap: Resellers Listening Session at Thunderbird Hall, October 7, 2024 On Monday (10/7/24), we hosted a groundbreaking Resellers Listening Session, bringing together Philadelphia's vibrant community of vintage and secondhand entrepreneurs. The event, a collaboration between Circular Philadelphia and the City of Philadelphia Commerce Department and local resale businesses like Big Top Vintage (Port Richmond), and Thunderbird Salvage (Kensington) aimed to address challenges and explore opportunities in the resale sector. Now, we're compiling all feedback and will be developing action plans to address the most pressing needs identified. Here's a little sampling of our preliminary themes and findings... ?? Key Highlights: 1. Circular Philadelphia presented its vision for a more sustainable city economy. 2. The Commerce Department introduced valuable support programs, including storefront improvement grants and security camera reimbursements. 3. Resellers shared their challenges, including storage issues, transportation logistics, and consumer education needs. ?? Emerging Themes: ? Collaboration: Resellers expressed interest in networking and resource sharing. ? Education: The need for broader public awareness about the value of secondhand goods. ? Infrastructure: Discussions around shared storage spaces and transportation services. ? Marketing: Ideas for collective promotion and a comprehensive reseller directory. ? Innovative Proposals: ?
