#CircularMonday was created as a counteraction to Black Friday, offering an alternative to the rampant overconsumption of newly produced, often unsustainable products. Today, Circular Monday has evolved into a global movement, making it easier than ever for consumers to access sustainable goods and services. Since last year the campaign has gone from spanning 30 to now 40 countries, and Romania is one oth them. “40-70 percent of global carbon emissions comes from unsustainable production and consumption, according to Ellen MacArthur Foundation. Black Friday represents outdated consumer habits, and Circular Monday is offering a solution by promoting sustainable, circular alternatives,” says Alexandra Davidsson, Co-founder at #circularmonday & ClimateHero. Circular Economy Coalition - CERC
非营利组织管理
Our objective is to promote across Romania the key objectives of the EC Circular Economy Package.
关于我们
Established in 2017 as an independent organization by a group of professionals and social and environmentally responsible companies, the main purpose of the Circular Economy Coalition (CERC) is to promote nationwide the key objectives of the EC Circular Economy Package, namely to stimulate the development of new markets and business models, thus contributing to economic growth and creation of new jobs. Initially, the Coalition gathered members from the entire waste management sector (producers, waste collection companies, sorting stations and recyclers), but also various experts on environmental issues. As a consolidated body, our commitment is to enlarge the members variety all across Romanian economy, towards a circular business approach. We are open to establish strategic partnerships with similar local and international organizations and academia. The scope is to develop studies and reports on various circularity issues and support the implementation of programs promoting circular economy principles and concepts. Currently, CERC is actively working on tightening the communication with local and central authorities as well as Parliamentary committees, by attending public debates and working groups, in order to inform them about the benefits that circular economy can bring to the Romanian economy. Coalition’s aim is to become the leading voice that advocates for Circular Economy principles and international best practices throughout Romania, consequently becoming a key player for the domestic business community, but also the voice that broadcasts internationally the Romanian proposals and achievements in this sector.

#circularmonday is a non-profit initiative that promotes Circular Consumption ?? which means reducing waste and extending the lifespan of the products we already own. Instead of following the old “buy, use, throw away” model, we focus on reusing, repairing, and recycling, keeping products in use for as long as possible. ?? Think of it this way: why throw away a perfectly wearable sweater just because it has a small hole? Fix it, and it’s ready to wear again—plus, it has even more character! ?? In a circular system, products are designed to last, making them easier to repair and reuse. This way, we conserve resources, reduce waste, and create a more sustainable future. Supporting Circular Consumption means adopting a lifestyle where things get a second chance—and who doesn’t love a good comeback story? ? To explore this concept in more detail, we invite you to join our free online webinar on November 25th! We will discover how Circular Consumption can be applied in the industrial business environment, with insights from industry leaders: ?? With whom? Lombardi Ramela Angelina, owner and CEO of SILGIMAR, an industrial laundry. Ramela is a passionate advocate of sustainable business practices and has integrated eco-friendly processes into her operations, demonstrating how profitability can go hand in hand with environmental responsibility. Stefan Tudorie, Operations Manager at Genesis Biopartner, is the surprise speaker of the event. With over 20 years of management experience, ?tefan brings valuable perspective and the expertise needed to implement sustainable practices in industrial operations. Genesis Biopartner is a successful example of integrating sustainability into the industrial field. Alex. Laibar, Spokesperson #circularmonday Romania, is recognized for his innovative approaches to waste reduction and resource efficiency in the industrial environment. With extensive experience in guiding companies towards greener practices at the Circular Economy Coalition - CERC, Alex offers practical and actionable advice for integrating sustainability into business strategies. ??? When & where? November 25, from 17:30, register online here: https://lnkd.in/dCiuuZQx or join the LInkedIn event in the first comment ?? Why? To learn how Circular Consumption can transform businesses for a sustainable future!

Climate Change Summit's special Circular Economy Workshop was hosted in the most sustainable house in Romania - EFdeN, and featured Ladeja Godina Ko?ir, as speaker and facilitator on the Right to Repair?Directive. The workshop?started by presenting the main features of the?R2R Directive: ? The manufacturer will have the obligation to repair the product at a reasonable price within a reasonable time after the statutory warranty period, ? Consumers will have access to spare parts, tools and information on how products can be repaired, ? Consumers will be encouraged to opt for repair through incentives such as vouchers and repair funds, ? Online platforms will help consumers find local repair shops and stores that sell refurbished products. Participants, members and friends of Circular Economy Coalition - CERC, were encouraged to co-create an online platform that empowers consumers to smoothly exercise their right to repair by gathering all the stakeholders active on the life cycle of the product (producers, retailers, repair shops, consumers, recyclers). Although the main focus was on REEE, their findings are also applicable for textiles, furniture and other long term use products. #R2R #righttorepair #REEE #circularity #resources #circularbusiness #consumerempowement #CCS
