WEBINAR LAUNCH 13 JUNE - WORLD SUFFICIENCY LAB (WSL) ? On this World Environment Day, I urge you all to register for the Webinar Launch of the World Sufficiency Lab (WSL) on 13 June 2024, 12.30 – 14.00 CET. ? I feel privileged to have supported the WSL, an initiative of #IPCC lead author Dr Yamina Saheb, as its co-founder, following the 1st Sufficiency Summit that we co-organised in May 2023. We much value the continued support of Emanuele Di Francesco and World Resources Forum, Sciences Po Paris, the French Government, and others. ? While it is critically important to introduce the sufficiency concept to climate policies, to avoid demand for energy, land, materials and other resources, it also has major implications for protecting biodiversity and the natural environment, meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and social justice – especially re-balancing the great inequity in current global resource consumption patterns. ? Following a keynote by Ms Diane Simu, Climate Change Director of the French Ministry of Energy Transition, our WSL team will explain the Web Platform and the Work Programme, which includes urban areas, clothing, digitization, and mobility. The ultimate aim of the WSL is to build a global sufficiency community, via a series of national/regional hubs. This will be discussed in a Round Table kindly moderated by Emanuele. ?
