With?Revision J?now available as of April 2024, IPC-A-610—widely recognized for setting quality standards for electronic assemblies—has seen updates that will impact acceptance criteria across the industry. Here are some key changes to keep in mind as you transition from Revision H: ???New Chapter 10 Images: Revision J includes additional images for greater clarity, particularly in critical areas like conformal coating. ???Clarified Coating Guidelines: Requirements around voiding and bubbles in conformal coatings have been clarified, helping teams ensure coatings meet the latest industry standards. ???Consistent Terminology: Updates to terminology related to wires, leads, and conductors eliminate ambiguity, fostering more uniform practices across assembly processes. Together, IPC-A-610J and IPC J-STD-001J provide comprehensive standards for assembly quality and reliability.
