Vanta (YC W18) has raised $150 million in Series C funding to automate companies’ security and compliance processes.
Before Christina Cacioppo founded Vanta in 2018, security and compliance were handled primarily through spreadsheets and screenshots. Accountants and auditors needed a more efficient process.
Vanta simplified this by automating security compliance with continuous monitoring and real-time reports through its online Trust Center. This streamlines the process for auditors, making it easier to certify companies as compliant with standards like SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and GDPR. Vanta now offers similar solutions for non-software companies as well.
Less than five years after launch, Vanta now has over 8,000 customers, including Quora, Modern Health, and AI firm Mistral AI — and has grown to more than $100 million in annual recurring revenue.
Vanta also introduced AI-powered Questionnaire Automation, speeding up security reviews by five times and making it easier for security teams to show trust. They built the world's largest network of Trust Centers and launched a conversational AI interface that answers questions proactively, aiming for zero-touch security reviews. To better support large customers, Vanta also added features like an enhanced REST API, SCIM provisioning, and multi-instance integrations, with plans for more customizations.
Vanta has already rolled out over 260 new features this year, enhancing its platform's value and helping startups and companies build a strong security foundation.
Congrats Christina and team Vanta on the Series C!
