This week our Chief Administrative Officer opened up about his son's experience with Equine Assisted Therapy at Young Hearts Therapeutic Riding . He details the experience and benefits of this opportunity, from the perspective of the father of a child with special needs. Visit our blog to read their story.????https://lnkd.in/g5EvCtDH
Last week, I had the unique opportunity to step into my son’s world, not just as his dad, but as an observer in each of his therapy sessions. As the non-clinical leader of Circle Creek Therapy, I often find myself caught up in the business side of things—managing operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly, and focusing on the growth of our practice. It’s easy to become removed from the day-to-day moments that define our work. But last week, as I watched my son, I was reminded of why we do what we do. Each appointment was filled with special moments—moments of progress, connection, and hope. I watched as his therapist patiently guided him through challenges, celebrating each small victory with genuine joy. I saw the care and dedication that went into every interaction, and I realized something profound: this is not just a job for our team; it’s a calling. As a father of a child with special needs, I understand the struggles, the worries, and the hopes that come with each therapy session. It’s not just about hitting milestones or achieving goals; it’s about giving our children the tools they need to navigate a world that isn’t always built for them. It’s about creating a space where they feel understood, supported, and capable. One of the most incredible experiences has been watching my son, Noah, thrive through horse-assisted therapy. Thanks to the amazing team at Young Hearts Therapeutic Riding and the volunteers of our new partner, Noah has made incredible progress through the implementation of a non-traditional therapy approach. The bond he has formed with the horses, coupled with the therapeutic expertise provided, has opened new doors for his development that we hadn't imagined possible. That day, I was reminded of the incredible impact our therapists have—not just on my son but on every child and family that walks through our doors. It was a powerful reminder that behind every statistic, every report, and every session note, there is a child like mine, a family like mine, hoping for the best and grateful for every step forward. As the owner of a pediatric therapy practice, it’s easy to get lost in the numbers and the business decisions. But my experience with my son’s therapy reminded me that the heart of what we do lies in those small, meaningful moments. It’s in the smile of a child who finally masters a skill, in the relief of a parent who sees progress, and in the dedication of a therapist who never gives up. Being a dad and a leader in this field is a unique privilege. It gives me a perspective that keeps me grounded in what truly matters: the children and families we serve. Watching my son that day was a reminder that our work is not just about therapy—it’s about changing lives. And for that, I am endlessly grateful. Thank you to our incredible team at Circle Creek Therapy, PLLC and to the amazing team at Young Hearts Therapeutic Riding for the work you do every day. You are making a difference, one small moment at a time.
