Circleback (YC W24) has raised $2.5 million in seed funding to provide best-in-class AI-powered meeting notes and automations. Founders Ali Haghani and Kevin Jacyna started building Circleback in January 2023 while still working as software engineers. The initial idea came from a simple observation: much of the useful information shared in meetings is lost or quickly forgotten. They initially focused on delivering high-quality meeting summaries and action items, which customers found even better than their own notes. In fact, Circleback was named a top pick for AI note-taking by TIME. Today, thousands of users rely on Circleback, not just for meeting summaries but also to easily access and act on their team’s conversation data. With smart automations and search capabilities, teams can instantly retrieve important information from past discussions. As AI continues to reshape work, Circleback is positioning itself to help teams get the most out of every conversation. And there’s still a lot to explore, from understanding spoken instructions to highlighting key details that might otherwise be missed. I get asked about my tech stack a lot (comes with being "Every EA's go-to tech guy" I guess ??). We ended up catching a show at the Sphere and became fast friends. Beyond being genuinely good people, Kevin and his co-founder built what I consider the cleanest note-taking UI out there. What I love about it: ? Super intuitive, never crowded ? Quick 'send' button to share notes (did this recently with a group of EAs who requested the notes) ? Smart tagging for easy search (design reviews, sprint plans, etc.) ? Accurate action items after every meeting ? Recently I asked Claude (more on this tool in a future post ??) to find when we first discussed auto-deleting holds in our Vimcal EA sprint meetings, and it pulled the exact conversation instantly.
